Summary

Does Rock Star see the numbers, roleplay server, NoPixel, is putting up? We think so, and maybe they will cash in on the phenomenon.

Is Rock Star Watching?

It is hard to imagine Rock Star does not see the viewer numbers Grand Theft Auto (GTA) roleplay is putting up. Some of the top streamers are playing in roleplaying servers and not GTA Online. We will explore ideas Rock Star could implement from NoPixel.

Since GTA modifications must have code publicly available, and profit cannot be made from mods, the publisher could implement their own roleplay system taking these features.

200+ Players In A Server

An apocalyptic thought to have in a GTA Online server, 200 or more players could be lead to unique experiences for nonviolent events players enjoy. Car shows and other social gatherings would benefit by having a large audience of players. For normal GTA, that many players would be a full-scale war. The amount of firepower available would be pure chaos if you survive long enough to do the public server missions. I'm sure they will offer shark cards to skip that miserable existence though.

Playable Cops

Seeing how the servers have implemented large-scale systems and whole police departments in-game could get GTA VI producers thinking. An integral part of the cops and robbers style gameplay, playable police would be a logical next step for the game. It would take some balance tweaks, because the overpowered mechanics could deter attempts at high-risk crimes.

Public Heists

In NoPixel, various items are required to complete a heist, such as laptops, thermites, and USB sticks. GTA VI could put these in the new online variant of the game. The hypothetical addition of playable police could add a new element to the online mode for the next-generation video game.

Dedicated Role Play

With how many people are invested in watching and playing GTARP, Rock Star could test the feasibility and determine if adding roleplay functionality to the next iteration of the game is worth it. This could take users from VRChat, expanding the audience to more than just GTAO cash grinders.

Final Thoughts

Adding roleplay elements could add immersion to the grinding and griefing of GTAO. If they could make it profitable, it is plausible these mods might make their way to production. Could this have played a small role in why GTA VI was delayed for years?
